Pray for Personal Holiness
“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.”
1 Chronicles 28:9
Lord, there is none holy like you. There is none beside you. There is no rock like our God. Lord, you have called us to be holy as well. It is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” May we be holy in our conduct. Help us keep our ways pure. We will strive for peace with everyone. You have saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our own works but because of Your purpose and grace, which You gave to us in Christ Jesus before the foundations of the earth.
May we always prioritize personal holiness above personal preferences and freedoms. We ask that holiness permeates every part of our life as Piedmont Church becomes a community of peculiar people. Finally, we agree with the psalmist, search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
