Over the past several Sundays we have talking about the last words that Jesus said to his disciples before he left earth.
Last words can be tough when you try to condense or summarize years of lessons and memories into those final need to knows or don’t forgets.
This Sunday I will be looking at verse 20 “To the very end of age.” What does Jesus mean when He says “To the very end of age?”
As a church we tend to focus on the long suffering of God and how persistent He is in chasing us and how open and quick He is to redeem us. We tend to forget “to the very end of age.” We don’t focus on what happens when Jesus returns.
When Jesus returns, we will be asked two questions. What did you do with my Son? And what did you do with the talents I gave you?
Two questions that I want you to focus on until Sunday.
Jesus said in Matthew 4:19
“Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.”
If we are truly following Jesus then we should be developing a passion for others. We should be using our gifts to catch fish.
The question I want to ask you is when Jesus returns will he see you out fishing? Are you truly using your gifts to reach others?
Just like Chick Fil-A will never stop making the chicken sandwich, Piedmont Church will never stop reaching and serving this community to Jesus Christ.
This Sunday’s message is entitled ” Keep on Fishing!” The mission that Jesus gave the disciples has now been passed on to us. It’s our turn to go! It’s our turn to go and serve this community to Jesus Christ. Don’t miss this Sunday! God has given me a great word to share.
Don’t forget this is the last week to give for September’s Love Does. We are donating funds to help fight childhood cancer. We will be presenting a check during the worship service on Oct. 9th. I am hoping its a big check.
I need volunteers to help wrap hot dogs and serve lunch to MUST Ministries 3 largest areas to receive the summer lunch program. We will be at the Villas of South Cobb Cobb II located at 1901 Old Concord road in Smyrna. We will be serving over 600 lunches. We will need help from around 9:30am to 12pm. If you can help just email me at email@example.com.
I love serving with all of you!
