Wonder is a Gospel-Centered Sensory Environment that embraces the exceptionality of each child and where they are free to learn and explore.  As an extension of Piedmont Kids, Wonder is for children in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade.   The Piedmont Kids Team is so excited to have this room that is specifically designed to be tailored for each child.  The room will engage all 5 senses and have plenty of areas for individual time or group time.  The lessons will be tailored for each child’s learning ability to ensure they walk away on Sunday mornings hearing the Gospel and knowing the Bible story for the day.

Wonder is a specific environment that is created for kids with Sensory Abilities and Special Needs. We have an amazing team of teachers that ensures this room is perfect for kids of every single background.

Wonder is offered Sunday mornings at 9:30am & 11:00am. During this time, kids get to play, explore, and learn about Jesus.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you offer/what will my child be doing?

Wonder’s schedule will consist of play time, sensory time, craft time, story time, and music time. We know that each child will have unique needs and preferences and our goal is to help them participate in as many activities as possible.

When is Wonder offered?

Wonder is offered on Sunday mornings during our 9:30am and 11:00am services.

What age groups is Wonder for?

Wonder is for Kindergartners through 5th Graders.

How early should I arrive?

Our team would suggest you arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park, get inside, get your child registered, and get them acquainted with the room.

Where do I park?

The easiest and most accessible place to park is in front of the Church Offices. This is in our front parking lot closest to Piedmont Road.

Where should I go when I arrive?

Once you arrive, walk through the doors that say “Church Office.” You will immediately see a large check in counter and double door to your left. Walk through those double doors and down the hallway where our amazing Wonder Dream Team will be ready to welcome you and get your child checked in.

Do I need to stay on campus?

Yes. We ask that you stay on campus for emergency purposes. We offer church services and Small Group classes at both our 9:30 and 11:00 services.

Am I allowed in the room?

Due to our safety procedures we have in place, you will not be allowed in the Wonder Room. However, most of our Dream Team are special needs teachers in our public schools and are ready and excited to help your child get into the room and get comfortable.

Who is working with my child?

Most of our Dream Team members for Wonder are special needs teachers in our local schools. They also go through a thorough background screening and safety class. Your child’s safety is our number one concern and we don’t believe there are any finer people to teach your amazing children.

What happens if there is an emergency?

If there is a non-life-threatening emergency, we will contact you immediately via the phone number provided to us. This is another reason we ask that you stay on campus, so you are available if an emergency should arise. If an emergency is life threatening, we will immediately call 911 and our medical staff on campus will be alerted. We will then notify you immediately once medical personnel are notified.

Will there be snacks?

We will offer snacks during Wonder. Please be sure and make us aware on your child’s registration form if they have any food allergies and we will be happy to accommodate as much as we can. If your child is on a strict diet or not able to eat solid foods, you are welcome to provide snacks for your child that our teachers can give during snack time. All snacks provided by Wonder will be nut free and we ask if you bring any from home that they are nut free as well.

If you have any other questions, please reach out to our Children’s Pastor, Aaron Collier.
